Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel/ The Ringed City

Good morning and welcome to another review or should I say an impression by yours truly. I think it's unfair to review Mass Effect: Andromeda since I haven't beaten it yet. I think it's even more unfair to ignore DLCs that come out a while after its main game. The biggest example for that was The Witcher 3's DLCs, proving to me that expansion packs can be investing and as rewarding as the main game, sometimes even better. This is the last chance for us to experience Dark Souls, whether its great or terrible, I felt it was essential to go through The painted world of Ariandel and The Ringed City.

I'd like to first put it out there that no matter how someone explains the subtle narrative behind Dark Souls, its really hard to keep up with storytelling through item descriptions, environments, and NPC dialogue, especially when you've been cut off from the series for a while. However, I can safely vouch for how memorable the Painted world is. If the main game didn't make you feel you're in the shadow of the original Dark Souls, these DLCs will make sure that feeling happens. Going through snowy terrains and fighting reminiscent bosses like Sif, the great wolf or Priscilla was great to experience.

Both DLCs take about 20 hours on average to finish and I felt the difficulty scaled high, requiring you for at least to be level 100-120 and even with that you'll struggle. I've noticed boss fights are longer and tougher, each boss having at least 3 phases. Sounds badass initially but then it gets frustrating until you find someone to summon. Even the summons have scaled up, allowing you to summon 3 players to fight an almost ten to fifteen minute fight that more or less feels like a raid from an MMO. PVP has been upgraded here as well where there are a lot of areas with dark spirits and summon signs, sometimes the map will feel congested with players.

and if the stakes weren't raised high enough from Ashes of Ariandel, the ringed city shows us an almost impossible to beat dragon along with new annoying enemies that just complete the main game and tie up the lore with the previous games. To those that are either busy playing Persona 5 or Mass Effect like myself. I completely get you, just take a break and enjoy Dark Soul 3's DLC I've been Ahmed Jadaa and though this is only an impression, I hope I get back to you with another review next time.
