Tabletop Simulator

This isn't as much a review as it is a desperate plea to other people buy this game and come play with me. So please create a steam account and go buy this game that was developed and published by the folks over at Berserk Games. I'm so lonely, so lonely, all on my own.

I'm a big tabletop player. So much so that if you want to make sure that I come out and do something social just let me know that something is going to be played and I'll be there. I even host tabletop game night at my place every fortnight. So, just keep that in mind when you are reading the review.

By itself 'Tabletop Simulator' isn't that much of a game. Its simply a virtual table and it isn't that nice looking of a table, suspended in the middle of the screen in front of a background that came loaded with a couple of the words more famous card games and boardgames as well some element to run some role-playing games. That isn't very remarkable and at twenty dollars it still wouldn't be that bad of a deal as it would allow you to play a fairly large number of games with your friend from anywhere around the world.

That is a nice table you have there, it would be a shame if something happened to it.
What makes this game great though is that it allowed the Steam community to create their own mods. This as a result led to hundreds of mods of almost every single board game under the sun. Everything from 'Guess Who?' to 'Magic the Gathering' to 'Life' to 'Risk' is there and its playable and functional. That is just amazing, not only because a lot of these boardgames don't currently have and will never get videogame adaptations of their own but in that playing them through Tabletop Simulator you actually get a real feeling of playing the games themselves in real life. This is brilliant because it not only allows us to do things like try and cheat during a game like UNO or Monopoly but to also just go full crazy and mess up the board by throwing pieces at one another and just straight up flipping the table into oblivion. All of this only doesn't have the lasting effect of destroying your friendships in real life thanks to the easily placed undo button.

ARGHAGHA!
This game is a must own in my opinion, especially for people with friends who are displaced all over the world like me. You can play anything you want whenever you want and the list of games on it are going to keep growing for a long time to come. Yes, I understand that the game isn't going to be getting any prettier and there is any issue with latency. But this game does something that nothing out in the market can even replicate and I'm willing to put up with its flaws since the sheer amount of things you can do in it are massive.
