Welcome back to another review and this time I'm quite surprised this is my first Naughty Dog game review with Uncharted The Lost Legacy. This is the fifth Uncharted title to come out and it is supposed to be an expansion pack to the 4th game. However, based on what I've played, however short it might've been, it felt like a game on its own. To those that have already beaten the very recent Uncharted 4, Nathan Drake's story has come to an end where there is more room for other characters' stories to flourish, this time with Chloe from Uncharted 2 and Nadine from god knows which game because I have a goldfish memory.
I've always assumed Nathan Drake was the charismatic, charming character of the series and that no one can replace his comic relief nature in any game but the writers and developers proved that any character they make is unique on its own despite the recent changes in Naughty Dog's office, the game still manages to flow well, putting me in a state of trance one scene after another. Jumping from one platform to another and gunning one enemy at a time.
Developers at Naughty Dog claimed they have changed the coding and did major changes to character control due to Chloe having a different Physique than Nathan. I didn't notice it at first but eventually realized things flow faster playing as Chloe not to mention the AI being different. It seems the game here emphasizes on stealth and enemy takedowns. Very few occurrences force the player to take cover and shoot. Last but not least is the variety and amount of puzzles within a short campaign. There are so many puzzles alone here that probably rival the previous games amount of puzzles and I actually like that.
Not much else to add here other than the cheesy comical dialogue that I love to hear while platforming or driving a vehicle until I reach my next puzzle or objective. If you've played a single Uncharted, you'd know what I mean and you'd know that this is a blind purchase, unless you want something different and don't care much for the story or the significance of it. Uncharted The Lost Legacy is available for purchase on PSN digitally and for PS4. See you in my next review
