I'm just coming off the back of recording an episode on the Low Priority Queue about the first and second seasons of Rick & Morty so I'm pretty amped about writing this.
Pocket Mortys is a pokemonesque game developed by Big Pixel Studios and published by Adult Swim that can only be found on mobile platforms. Those platforms being any Android or iOS device.
So, I had a pretty fun time playing Pocket Mortys, but, that doesn't mean that its a game without flaws. Because its got many, many flaws. The main flaw ironically is the game itself since its just a reskin and dumbed down version of Pokemon anyone that has played that game previously won't find anything new to do. This is aside from the sounds being really repetitive and there not being much diversity to the worlds that you are exploring. On top of that, the game runs a bit longer and is more repetitive than the average Pokemon game, or at least that is how I felt. I really only saw it through to the end due to the fact that I was hoping to get a few more jokes out of the game about its universe.
The best part of the game though is its adherence to the Rick & Morty universe. Its fucking fantastic, it loaded with tons of jokes from previous episodes and seasons, you get to spend more time at the Citadel of Ricks and explore that which I found pretty interesting. But it goes beyond just treading on stuff from the episodes and actually has you meeting and getting introduced to new aspects of the Rick & Morty verse.
As a whole this is a pretty decent mobile game, yes there are micro transactions because the world is a terrible place but you can totally ignore them. It is a must play for Rick & Morty fans though since you're just going to have a fun time being Rick and doing Rick things.
